DISCOVER
Things we noticed, questions we asked, what we learned while making, and notes we kept.
- Three sides of the Little Problem — The first prototype was too serious. The second laughed too much. The third was a problem of exactly the right size.
- What’s on your desk right now? — One question, four different desks. None of the answers was “a computer”.
- The quiet comeback of pull-along toys — Something that follows you when you pull its string. Sometimes that’s the whole design.
- Monday note
- Window — This astronaut likes looking out the window. We let it.
- Why are the crayons shaped so oddly? — Little hands don’t hold them like a pencil, they hold them like a stone. So we made stones.
- A song in 18 notes — A song that plays as you turn the crank, and has to be started again when it ends. It teaches patience.
- Checked
- What was your favorite toy as a kid? — Half of the answers weren’t toys at all. A box, a stick, a rug pattern.
- Crescent — Some things are here just because they’re soft.
